We've just returned from contributing to a fab Open Day / Press Event at our most recent recommended venue; The Barn at Avington. We love meeting local suppliers, especially venues, that offer something unique. We were introduced online to Beth from The Barn at Avington a few months back when they were part-way through restoring and converting an industrial barn into a beautiful wedding venue. The Barn at Avington can be found on a working farm not far from Winchester, Hampshire. The surrounding area is beautiful and oh-so-peaceful. I delighted in rolling fields of baby lambs on our way to set up today... it really is quite special. The barn has been transformed and now is a wonderfully blank canvas which is perfect for weddings as it's so adaptable for different events and individual styles. In addition to the actual Barn, there is also a beautiful outdoor ceremony location adjacent to the trickling River Itchen, which is rather idyllic and accomodation too. Family and friends can stay in the cottages and glamping site. The Glade is something rather special indeed! It's a flexible, inspiring, friendly set up which we love! We utterly recommend! Press Day and PhotoshootWe were invited along by the lovely Beth to be a part of their Press Day. The Barn and the outside ceremony area has been dressed to impress by a host of clever talented suppliers and as I type this an invited host of journalists, industry experts and bloggers are exploring, taking photos and hopefully feeling utterly inspired. We were asked to create a relaxed boho luxe 'chill out' area with a colour palette of white, green and gold! (Sounds like a dream to us) We took down lots of lovely items from our prop hire collection and created a cosy little corner in the alcove. In addition to our little set up, indoors there was a cute vintage mismatched ceremony set up, stunning dressed tables and a sweet table! Everything looked fab and transformed the space entirely! An outdoor ceremony set up was also styled and was beautiful by the river, glistening in the sunshine.
